Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or plant-based alternative)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

½ teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 cup diced tomatoes

½ cup grated cheddar cheese

½ cup sour cream

1 avocado, sliced

¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Add ground beef (or plant-based alternative) to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, approximately 7-10 minutes.

Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper; mix well until the spices are evenly distributed. Allow cooking for another 2-3 minutes to enhance the flavors.

Warm the tortillas by either placing them in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side or wrapping them in a damp paper towel and microwaving for 15-20 seconds.

Assemble the tacos by placing a generous spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each tortilla.

Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, a sprinkle of cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, avocado slices, and fresh cilantro.

Serve with lime wedges on the side for an added burst of freshness.
