Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)

1 cup sweetened condensed milk

1 cup caramel sauce (Store-bought or homemade)

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 cup water

1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

½ cup chopped nuts (optional, walnuts or pecans)

Whipped cream or ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or cake pan with cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, cocoa powder, vegetable oil, eggs, and water. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.

Pour the cake batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.

Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the top of the cake batter, allowing it to pool in different spots, creating pockets of sweetness.

Next, drizzle the caramel sauce generously over the condensed milk layer.

Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the caramel and condensed milk layers. If desired, add the chopped nuts as well for added crunch.

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the cake is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. This will help the layers settle.

Serve warm with a scoop of whipped cream or ice cream on the side for an indulgent treat.
